About Me
Lauren Nostro is a senior strategy manager at Game Seven Agency. Her notable client experience includes Spotify (News, Brand Social, Music Marketing), Instagram (Close Friends Series), Peloton (Social), Hennessy (Made For More), Abercrombie & Fitch, and more.
She runs a small consulting agency, Nostro & Sons LLC, on the side and has worked with clients like Universal Music Group, Columbia Records, Red Bull Music Academy, New York State Small Business Development Center, The Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo, Community Health Center of Buffalo, and others.
Over the last decade, she’s worked at a number of major music publications, including COMPLEX, Genius, Vice, and more. Most recently, Lauren was the Senior Director of Urban Catalog at Universal Music Group/Universal Music Enterprises. Along with the VP of Urban, Andre Torres, she launched the imprint, Urban Legends—a platform championing the last 30 years of UMG’s hip-hop/rap/R&B catalog. While at UMG, she created an editorial platform that published behind-the-scenes editorial features, including interviews, fan testimonials, and essays from some of the music industry’s top critics. In her role, she executed marketing campaigns, D2C product placement, streaming initiatives, social growth, and fan engagement.
Before Universal, Lauren was the Executive Editor of the annotation platform-turned music news site, Genius. She played an integral role in shifting the brand from a crowd-sourced forum to an editorial operation and video hub. Before joining Genius, Lauren was the Managing Editor of Complex Music, where she profiled the best rapper alive, Nicki Minaj, spent a day with Khloe Kardashian, and wrote Complex’s first digital cover story on Danny Brown. She did her master’s thesis at NYU on Future and went on a SlutWalk with Amber Rose. Lauren has bylines in VICE, The FADER, Paper Magazine, Jezebel, and more.
These days, she lives in Buffalo with her cats, Tunechi and Baby.
